This is a fanfic I wrote several years ago. I don’t usually do fanfics, but this was a notion that would not go away. I have a rule when it comes to writing fanfiction: do not mess with the cannonical material if possible. This is harder to do if the source material is still alive and well (meaning the property holder is continuing to produce content within the universe)… but with Legend of Zelda, it’s well confined to the realm of fantasy… and my notion was of a cyberpunk world. I figure that’s so far beyond anything Nintendo would ever do with the franchise that I would be safe.
And thus, Reclamation was born.
I want it to be known that I’m not trying to make money off of this in any way, I’m not selling it, it’s not behind a paywall. This is just a passion project that consumed me for several months until I could get it out. It comes from a place of love and admiration for the source material (as well as all those who have contributed to it over at Nintendo since the game’s inception). I cannot put into words how grateful I am that they’ve put so much love and care into The Legend of Zelda. I hope this somehow helps to convey how much I’ve enjoyed the games.
